Whether you call it serve receive, bump, or the forearm pass, the ability to receive the serve is one of the most critical aspects of the beach volleyball game. Quite frankly, if you can’t pass then you can’t play and since this is an offensive skill of finesse and technique, and not power or force, with practice, concentration and repetition you should be able to improve your beach volleyball serve receive technique in no time at all.
Lower Body Positions
Improve Your Feet Positioning With These Serve Receive Tips
In beach volleyball the way that you should place your feet for the forearm pass ready position does not differ much than what you do in an indoor volleyball game. As I described in my article ‘Top 5 Volleyball Tips for Improving Your Serve Receive” your feet should be in a comfortably balanced position about shoulder width apart with your knees bent in a slight squat so that you can move front, back, sideways, diagonally or turn and run quickly.
Some players prefer to have their right foot forward when they are passing on the right side and have their left foot forward when passing on the left to protect the line that they are playing the closest to and it positions their body to face where they want the ball to go. Alternatively, there are players who face their target so they pass straight ahead stepping right to the ball while the majority of pro players angle their shoulders to the target regardless of where they are on the court, similar to what players do when they were playing indoor.
The secret to better passing in beach volleyball is to move your feet so that you get your body behind the ball, when you can, you always want to play the ball within the centerline of your body. Because you’re now playing in the sand, you want to run to get to the ball and then fight to get your feet in a balanced position underneath you so that you can have your body behind the ball.
Passing from a straddled position with a stance where one foot is two or three feet in front of the other is not a balanced position. The best serve receive position is to have both feet squarely planted side-by-side, so you’re not rocking back and forth or wobbling around by the time you contact the ball. For any last minute adjustments that you make (and you will have to make them) you want to make them so you finish up in this balanced position.
Leg Positioning
Just like in indoor you “pass with your legs”. You use your bent knees and leg strength to get underneath the ball, getting your body as far towards the ball to play it, by stepping into it and with your platform angled to the target.

In a previous article I discussed how important it is to have a solid footwork foundation. Now it’s time to expand your setting skills to include not only footwork but your hands as well.
There are three main principles that you should keep in mind when setting:
1. Your hands need to be both soft and strong.
As the ball approaches you your hands should already be above your head with wrists cocked back slightly. Cushion the ball as it contacts your hands by flexing your wrists just a little more and then straighten them quickly. Use both hands equally to direct the ball toward your chosen hitter.
Remember that there is a very small difference between soft hands that can cushion the ball and illegally holding the volleyball too long. If you break your wrists too much and appear to carry the ball, you’ll be called for a lift and your opponents will get a point.
Conversely, your hands can’t be too stiff either. Without some give in your wrists you’ll never get the ball under control. When using a forearm pass you’re just redirecting the ball’s momentum toward the target by allowing it to ricochet off your arms. Setting, however, demands that you alter the ball’s path as it leaves your hands.
As it approaches you (the setter) the volleyball is traveling toward the net. After the set you want it to travel parallel to the net. So without hands that are soft enough to cushion the ball and alter its path without holding on too long, you won’t be able to achieve accurate sets.
2. Thumbs in the eyes
Please keep in mind that I’m not advocating that you really jab your thumbs into your eyes. What I am saying is that as you receive the ball your thumbs should be almost directly above your eyes.
To achieve this position your wrists need to be flexed slightly and your fingers rounded. This type of position should direct your thumbs back toward your face; if they’re not pulled back they’ll be in the way of the ball, and jammed thumbs will ruin anybody’s day.
As mentioned in #1 we need hands that can cushion the ball without carrying it too long, which means we need nice ball-shaped hands. And of course the only way to get our hands to make a spherical shape is by pulling our thumbs back toward our eyes.
By making sure your thumbs are pointing toward your eyes and not your mouth or forehead you’ll be well on your way toward achieving a more consistent set.
3. Take a cue from soccer
I know this might seem a little odd since soccer players use their feet and setting involves just your hands, but to have accurate ball position when setting the volleyball we can imitate soccer players a little. More specifically, I’m referring to heading the ball.
If your footwork has been accurate and you’ve positioned yourself underneath the ball in preparation for setting, it should be approaching your forehead. Moving your hands away at the last second should result in the volleyball hitting your forehead, not your mouth or the top of your head.
Again, I’m not advocating that you actually let the ball hit you on the head or in the face.
Keeping the ball above your forehead will allow you to take full advantage of the power generated by your arms, wrists and leg muscles. Maintaining this ball position every time you set will also decrease the amount of time the ball is in your hands, making it less likely for you to be called for a lift.

The Descent 2 – Ungeschnittene Fassung [Blu-ray] Sehr guter zweiter Teil – DVD Gigant – Wedemark
The Descent Abgrund des Grauens aus dem Jahr 2005 war ein Überraschungserfolg der in Deutschland am 10. November 2005 startete und ca. 150.000 Zuschauer in ihren Bann riss.In England und vor allem in den USA lief dieser viel erfolgreicher und spielte Weltweit bei einem Budget von 6,5 Millionen Dollar über 43 Millionen Dollar an der Kinokasse ein.
Nun kam Teil zwei und meine Erwartungen waren sehr groß,auch weil dieser direkt an dem ersten anknüpft und Shauna Macdonald wieder die Sarah spielt und eine andere Person sehen wie auch noch aus Teil eins{dazu sage ich aber nichts}
Die geniale Machart aus engen Gängen wo man nicht weiß ob irgendetwas hinter einem ist,die Dunkelheit mit der die Menschen jeden Millimeter der Höhle auskundschaften und die Angst der Leute die nicht wissen was als nächstes kommt ist schlichtweg Genial.
Kleine Storyanleitung ohne Spoiler:
Sarah ist als einzige dem Grauen entkommen und wird Traumatisiert in ein Krankenhaus gebracht.Der örtliche Sheriff Vaines und sein Deputy Rios sehen die Sache Skeptisch entgegen den Sarah war voller Blut nur von wem,da kann sie sich nicht erinnern. Vaines will einen Suchtrupp in das Höhlensystem schicken mit Sarah,um nach ihren Freundinnen zu suchen,aber unten angekommen,wartet das pure Grauen auf sie.
Für die Regie war Jon Harris verantwortlich und das Drehbuch übernahm Neil Marshall,der schon den ersten Teil The Descent Abgrund des Grauens oder Doomsday inszenierte.
Ich kann nur jeden Horror Fan raten sich den ersten Teil anzusehen wenn Er diesen noch nicht kennt,ihr werdet auf eure Kosten kommen.
Mein Fazit 5/5 Punkten
: Descent 2, The – Die Jagd gehtweiter DV Ohne Erinnerungen und schwer traumatisiert wacht die Höhlenkletterin Sarah im Krankenhaus auf. Der örtliche Sheriff Vaines und sein Deputy stehen vor einem Rätsel und sind misstrauisch. Zu sechst waren Sarah und ihre Freundinnen vor ein paar Tagen zu einer gewagten Höhlentour aufgebrochen, doch nur sie überlebte. Alle Indizien sprechen gegen die junge Frau und die Behörden zwingen sie, sich dem Rettungsteam anzuschließen, das sich auf den Weg in das abgelegene Höhlensystem macht. Nicht wissend, dass sie direkt ins Verderben hinabsteigen, dämmert der Truppe bald, dass hier etwas ganz und gar nicht stimmt. Nach und nach kehren nicht nur Sarahs schreckliche Erinnerungen zurück – auch das unterirdische Grauen zeigt erneut sein blutrünstiges Gesicht.

The nature of news reporting has significantly changed in the last decade. Now news people are laden with opinions and are undertaking causes. The old Cronkite “And that’s the way it is” has become “that’s the way I see it” and is followed by more analysis and debate throughout the night and day – day after day – ad infinitum.
Discussing the call on my life to prophetic utterance with a friend I was forced to conclude that my message would be at the bottom of a list, a long list, of names of those people Americans take time to listen to. Only when events begin to unfold does my name warrant moving up the list. Every time the President proposes some new “change” for America or when some new attack on our citizens takes place do people take notice of anything I have said, my own website fluctuates on that basis.
I have foretold of an economic collapse for over three decades now and some have listened and even a few have responded by altering the way the accumulate and use their wealth. Yet it is more likely that people will listen to Dr. Nouriel Roubini. Sometimes referred to as “Dr. Doom” Nouriel is a world renowned economist whose latest book “Crisis Economics: A Crash Course in the Future of Finance” promises to make the best seller list. The short version of Mr. Roubini’s message is exactly the same as mine. The U.S. economy is coming down to a spectacular crash; the 1929 fall will look easy by comparison.
I’m OK with Dr. Doom’s conclusions because I realize that in some strange way we are on the same page. Christ said “For he that is not against us is on our part.” (Mk 9:40) The only real difference is that my message at times is followed by a miracle. What miracle you say? This one; “Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.” (Lk 15:10) Nothing can be done to avert what is about to transpire so all that remains how each person responds to it. Turning to God is transcendent and dwarfs the value of gold.
The suicides, ruined lives and insanity that followed the Stock Market crash of 1929 were much publicized. The stories of those who survived and re-established not just another fortune but an entirely different basis for life, are not so well known, they are the miracles. They are what Christ was referring to when he said “Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.” (Lk 12:15)
The humblest expositor of the scripture is a hundred times less likely to be heard than an economist, psychiatrist, politician and a thousand other experts in their respective fields. Isn’t it appropriate that God chooses dumbbells, farmers, fishermen and the general off scouring of the world to produce a message that for some will determine their entire future destiny?
No wonder the Apostle Paul anointed in God’s Spirit was forced to say “For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.” (1Cor 1:26, 27)
Watching as Americans fly from one expert to the other trying to glean some insight into future events and their meaning, is disconcerting. The general picture that emerges is also pretty much a cause for concern. Politicians, pundits, economists and other experts think that prophets are dabbling in the realm of the ethereal where nothing can be known for certain. They are placed in the same category as those who have sighted UFO’s, debate the authenticity of religious icons or are known to have occasional psychic powers worthy of a mention but ultimately are placed only a bit higher than a freak show attraction.
Those who are Biblically grounded and quote only what is already cited in scripture are not given much more credence than the rest. The world laughs while the prophets weep. Even though the prophets will have what might be called “the last laugh” they find nothing humorous about the loss of precious human souls.
Half the time is spent questioning the authority of scripture and the rest of the time is used complaining of the nagging, repetitive, redundant and generally unwanted warnings that we just don’t want to hear even one more time. Prophets are a pain. As the world approaches the last days sinning will become almost a career for some; concomitant to this increase will be even more warnings, the same warnings, over and over again.
When Roe V. Wade slipped into our law during a lapse in judicial sanity many voices were raised to decry and condemn the ruling. Now millions of voices are being raised to match the staggering fifty million abortions we now have to our credit.
When Hollywood started to depict people partially dressed and using an occasional expletive in a movie a few voices of warning were heard. Now opening scenes of a movie may show people copulating and violence, gore and torture are as common as sprinkles on our ice cream. A million voices are being raised in unison against it. Go figure! Perhaps there are more prophets out there than even they (the prophets) know of.
Unfortunately there are many more false prophets in the arena than true. The reason this is true is simple. False prophets seek only friendship with man, their predictions favor men because they fear man or more accurately they fear not being accepted by man. True prophets fear God, who has strictly warned that you can’t make stuff up and put God’s name to it.
That maxim is probably why God doesn’t provide many prophets with extra biblical revelation. Everything given to a prophet must ring true to the bible. Such individuals are saddled with not one but two very disheartening facts. One is that most people are not paying enough attention to bible prophecies so who’s going to give much credence to extra biblical material? Secondly receiving revelation is very personal. If you think it’s hard to explain biblical prophecy then try explaining your own revelation.
Prophecy from any kind of revelation is not given to titillate or excite the hearer but rather it is given literally to save lives, inform and prepare. The accuracy of Old Testament prophecies are part of what the science of biblical apologetics (proofs) uses to establish the veracity and trustworthiness of the scriptures. One such prophecy from Daniel that marks a fourth edict made specifically by the Persian King Artaxerxes and goes up to the death of Christ on the cross is so accurate that biblical naysayers are forced to ignore it completely or; bend their knees and admit that the Bible is in every way the words of a Living God and not the aimless meandering of a bunch of overly religious zealots.
I have watched year by year as things I have foretold have come to pass and yet I could summarize everything I have personally received in three simple but distinct sentences.
1. America’s economy will collapse
2. Christ will return shortly after our economic collapse. How soon after? I don’t have a clue but I can safely say it is not generation after generation. More like less than a decade.
3. People in America and worldwide will not believe and will be un-prepared for the most part.
The most important aspect of true prophecy is to bring the conscience of a nation to God. No generation in history has been so willing to deny God as this one. Pushing God away, according to the bible’s prophecies is exactly what causes him to show up. When we have finally rid ourselves of every connection to God and if we actually succeed at removing every clear proof of our biblical foundations as a nation, we will be, only days or minutes away from his appearing.
In a radio address on April 27, 1950 former President Herbert Hoover concluded his speech with this amazing, intuitive and perhaps even prophetic statement.
“The whole inspiration of our civilization springs from these teachings of Christ and the lessons of the prophets. To read the Bible for these fundamentals is a necessity of American life.”
If only one tenth as much time was spent on these necessities as is spent on our economy, spending and taxes we would continue for generations as the richest nation in the history of the world. While we debate the economy we are drifting from the source of wealth and angering the wealth giver with deep and ever darker immoralities, perversions and base behaviors. What good prophecy can a prophet give in answer or to justify the aforementioned behavior? If you hear one; don’t believe it!
“But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.” (Dt. 8:18)

Men are mare mortals. Born of women though created by God the Supreme Being. For every man there is a woman created for him. Right from the onset man was created not to be alone that was why when God created man, he noticed that he cannot be alone and made woman to keep him company. There are a lot of qualities that women look out for in their men. These qualities may defer from one woman to the other but the deviation may not be that much. The question then is
“Is there any perfect man?” If there is none, why then do women look out for these qualities in their men?
You may be a prince charming, you may be the richest man that have ever lived, are these what women want in their men? This article is going to unfold all those special and specific qualities that women generally look out for in a man. When you rate it on a scale of 1 to 10, I will bet that over 90% of women want their men to be all of these:
· Loving: Every woman will want her man to be a loving guy. The word love today is used so freely and carelessly that the meaning is not felt again in the word. Every woman will want her man to always shower her with endless love.
· Understanding: Women like men who understand. Every woman will like a man who understands her mood, countenance, attitude, nature, feelings, temper, values, likes and dislikes.
· Honest: Women like honest men. It is very important for a man to be very honest to his woman. Let your yes be yes and your no, no. Honesty builds trust in your relationship with your woman. So make sure you are always honest to her. She will want to always take you for your word.
· Care: Women are over grown babies. They need care. They want to be pampered. Always show them that you care and are always ready to be there for her.
· Support: Women like men that are supportive. They are the weaker sex remember. They always need a shoulder to lean on. They want their men to be there for them at all times.
· Independence: Every woman wants a man who can stand on his own legs. You can take a decision on your own without being influenced by your friends, parents, colleagues etc. Women want their men to be engaged with a job or business that can take care of his and her own needs.
· Respect: Your woman will want you to respect her. She wants to be called your angel. She will want you to share her opinion and listen to her if need be.
· Communication: Every woman will want to know where you are at all time, what you are doing, what you want to do, who you are seeing, why you are seeing him or her, your plan for the future, your plan for both of you etc. Women like their men to be open to them at all times and not keep them in the dark with what is going on in their man’s life.
· Focus: Women like men who are focused. They like men who have dreams, goals and objectives in life. Your woman will like you more when she finds out you have a great dream and follow it up.
· Appearance: Who says looks don’t have a role in relationship? For most women, their men have to be very handsome before they can date.
· Financial Stability: For most women they want their men to be financially stable. At least the man can take care of himself, the woman and their immediate needs. The man need not be a moneybag, but at least he has to have a means of stable income.
· Fidelity: No woman will want to share her banana with a monkey. Every woman wants to have her man to her self alone. Women like men who are faithful to them. Most relationships that would have been fruitful have scattered because of infidelity and women attach so much importance to this quality in their men.
· Funny: Women like funny men. You always hear most ladies say, ” Oh That guy is so funny, I love him”. Women like men who will put smiles on their faces at all time. If your woman must like you, then you must try to make her happy always.
· Security: Women like men that can give them security. A woman will always love a man she knows she is secured in his arms. A woman will always want her position in your life to be secured and guaranteed.
· Humility: It’s a woman’s desire to see her man humble. She feels proud when her man is down to earth, not pompous.
The list of what women want in their men is inexhaustible, but I very much think that these few points narrated above will always give you an excellent mark before your woman.
